I have finished constructing a test piece for the peacocks. See images. This week we have progressed the garden project by identifying designs with the blacksmith for the chair, canopy and lanterns. There may be pictures to come. We have been to Sherwood Forest to visit the handmade glass maker Dan Aston at FireFly who will be making the lamp vessels for the hanging lanterns and some glass globe features for the fireplace in our own house. Dan has a great studio and it is well worth a visit. There is a YHA next door if you want to stop over that can provide meals. The studio is in a craft centre that has a variety of traditional craft studios, shops and a cafe. It is right on the site of Sherwood Forest so if walking is a hobby then you can stroll out to see the Great Oak too. |
